The History behind Tyler and skiing

When I was six years old, I took up the sport of Down hill racing. When I was involved with this sport I won a few meets and enjoyed myself. Then when I was eight I took up the sport of Nordic Jumping as well as my racing. Nordic Jumping was fun because I could fly in the air, while Racing was fun because I could go fast with out getting in trouble. There was still something missing.. When I was eleven, my mother took me up to see the newly built Utah Winter Sports Park. When I got there, I couldn't believe what I saw. There were people jumping off of jumps going sixty feet in the air, and landing in water. From that moment on, I knew I was hooked into freestyle. For one year, I competed in Racing, Nordic Jumping, and I was on the Wolf Mountain Freestyle Ski Team. Then I realized where are the fun was, Freestyle. I competed moguls for a few years, then I became hooked on aerials, and I have been stuck on them ever since.

Aerials

When I decided to compete only in aerials, I knew what I wanted, I wanted to have fun. That is exactly what I am doing. I can fly sixty feet in the air, and land safely on my feet. Every time I go to jump, I think of how many people in the world are doing exactly what I am doing at that very moment in time. And I realize, that there may only be one hundred or so training in aerials in the entire world. And I am one of them. People always introduce me as the most determined athlete at the Utah Winter Sports Park. I got this title because I would never let anyone tell me I couldn't do something. When I first started, many of the high level coaches said that I should go home so that I wouldn't get hurt. They said this because I was very tall maybe 5' 9'' and I weighed maybe 90 lbs. I heard these coaches say this, and right then, I knew I wanted to prove them wrong. So when everybody wanted to go home because they were tired, I wanted to jump more. Now five years later, I am competing double twisting Triple back flips on snow. And loving every minute of it .
